Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. The Maintenance Technician repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components and applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restores equipment to operation.

This position is a hands-on maintenance position requiring ownership, knowledge and proficient use of typical Millwright hand tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Passing score on Ramsay written test and practical skills test, administered by Berg Pipe.

Preferred Education and Work Experience

  • Post-secondary education.

  • Experience in heavy, industrial manufacturing.

Technical Services Manager

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for managing the ISO 9001 and API 01 Q1 certified Quality Management Systems for design and manufacture of submerged arc welded pipe. They serve as central technical contact to provide technical project management for customer order activities and technical development of new products and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications and customer order requirements; compile technical comments and exceptions for review and resolution; Provide technical input to the QPP (Order Quotation) Process.

  • Prepare Manufacturing Procedure Specifications (MPS), Inspection and Test Plans and other control documentation for customer orders.

  • Prepare the technical portions of computer system documentation (provisional orders, customer requirements, lab instructions and order requirements) for control of customer orders in manufacturing.

  • Provide technical support to Raw Materials Purchasing to assure that raw materials are ordered to meet customer requirements in the final product.

  • Provide technical support to Quality Control to assure common understanding and implementation of the requirements for customer orders.

  • Communicate and coordinate within the department and with other departments on technical and quality issues, work, materials, and information flow.

  • Assist with auditing of product and processes to identify and correct non-conformance and determine opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide Technical Project Support for development of new products and processes.

  • Assist with identification and resolution of non-conformance, including input to the corrective action process.

  • Provide support to functions within the Quality Management System (CPAR, Internal Audit, Management Review.)

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science or related field; or technical discipline plus a minimum of five years of experience.

  • Five years of experience in a quality or technical position.

  • Experience with quality assurance, inspection and testing of tubular products.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Master’s degree is preferred.
